The jog button

This page is intended for configuration mode. Just was with the program page a coordinate display to the right, in the lower right the message text and in the middle the emergency off display. Instead of the program text and graphic window, user elements to manually process the axes (jog) are provided.

The buttons with the arrows will directly start travel on the relevant axis in the corresponding direction. The speed and increments can be selected with the selection button below. „Continuous“ means the axis will continue while the arrow button remains pressed and stop when released.

When the increments are finite and if „Round position“ is activated, the axis will continue until the position value rounded to the next increment (a „10mm“ increment means the axis will travel from 481 to 490 mm for example). The arrow button needs to remain pressed in order for the axis to travel, i.e. if you release the button before completion of the increment the axis will immediately stop. Doing so should prevent a collision if you incorrectly configured the path.

Should „Round position“ not be activated, travel will be limited to no more than the selected distance starting from the start position, e.g. with an increment 10mm, from 481 to 491mm. In the entry area directly below „Increment“ a random number can be entered that is not in the list, e.g. 3mm.

You can also travel the axis manually at any time, as long as no program is running if you on another page by using hot key combinations. Normally these are the arrow keys on the number block of the keyboard. The buttons on the configuration page give you better control over the speed and allows you to carefully approach the workpiece edges by small steps.

Zeroing a display

The zero button next to the coordinates or the entry of a number by double clicking on the coordinate can be used to alter the workpiece zero point. By clicking on the „To park position“ and „To zero point“ buttons on the left side beneath the arrow button the machine will travel directly to the zero point or to the park position. If you want the Z height to remain constant, you can select „Only X+Y“ instead of „All axes“. Attention, only use this function if you are sure the path is free! Should a collision loom, you can stop the movement by repeatedly pressing the button or with the emergency off switch.

The MDI button in the upper centre opens a window with a text entry field. You can enter the G-Code commands directly here. Doing so can be useful when trying to travel to a precise position, or enter orders to activate a specific mode or a specific function.

If the G-command is entered and confirmed, this can be stopped by pressing the „Stop MDI command“.
While the command is processed, the next command can be entered. This will then be executed after the end of the previous command.

By using the up cursor, you can scroll through the commands already entered in the list in order to repeat the command faster and more assuredly.

Attention, an express warning against the misuse of MDI entries to type the program in „real time“. It is far too easy to make a typo and risk a collision. Pay attention to what you type and check twice before pressing the enter key, particularly with G0 commands.

Soft limits

By default, the Soft limits are always activated, i.e. they are performed after the reference travel, and the machine „knows“ knows where it is and how long the travels of the axes are. The machine will automatically stop before then end. If the check next to „Soft limits“ is removed, the control will be switched off. Of course when the soft limits are deactivated you can only travel carefully and slowly.
