Import drawing

2D drawings, in DXF and HPGL formats, can be imported with this function, i.e. they are transformed in a G-code file. This is useful for processing, which do not demand any CAM function, i.e. do not need to be taken into account for this cut width (milling diameter), as for example when engraving letters, where the lines of the drawing correspond to the path of the tool middle point.
All other processing, where the tool path needs to shift to the tool radius, as an external CAM program is needed for 3D processing.

Detailed description of the import filter

As the import filter offers truly extensive functions, it has an extra chapter at the end of the handbook.
The chapter includes a description of an HPGL import filter and a DXF import filter, which are included in the standard version of this software.
